The Holt Heath Christmas Tree

The Christmas tree on the land at the corner of the Witley road and the Holt Fleet road by the Red Lion is decorated each year by the members of the parish and we thank them for their work. This year it was seen that the existing tree is starting to show it's age and that a decision is needed as to how we replace it for the future.

There are three schools of thought, the first idea is to plant a new young tree near the existing tree to grow on for use in the coming years, the second idea is to create a structure buried in the ground to hold a cut tree each year, or do we plant a young tree and whilst it grows have a cut tree. Looking around the surrounding parishes we have seen that both ideas have been used, so we would like to hear your views as residents of the parish of Holt as to which route to take, so you can either pop along to our next meeting on Thursday 19th February or speak to one of our parish councillors and tell them what you think would be the best to ensure we have a good looking Christmas tree next Christmas.
